Rhone
White
La Fleur Solitaire 2013 (6) £8.49 £50.94
Cotes du Rhone

This is a wonderfully fresh lemon nose and is good, clean, straight drinking white wine. A pleasant change from the normal French Country white and well worth trying.

Luberon La Ciboise Blanc 2009 (6) £8.95 £53.70
M Chapoutier
Like so many Rhone whites, this had good blance between freshness and roundness and is a very refreshing change from the normal chardonays or sauvignons. Well worth trying.

 Red
'Les Coteaux' Cotes du Rhone Villages 2012/13 (6) £8.59 £51.54

Full of open ripe fruit on first taste, but quickly developes layers of complexity giving it lovely warmth and an excellent savoury finish. This is very good value and recommended.

Luberon la Ciboise Rouge 2014 (6) £8.95 £53.70
M Chapoutier

Full, well made Rhone wine with plenty of gutsy flavour at a really good price.

Warm, flowing and throughly luxurious Rhone red.

Les Coteaux Schisteaux Seguret 2012 (6) £11.99 £71.94
Cotes du Rhone Villages

A delicious example of Rhone wine, deep, powerful with excellent integration of fruit and tannins. Thoroughly satisfying and will only get better.

Coudoulet de Beaucastel 2011 (12) £16.29 £195.48
Domaine Perrin Mags £33.00
Made by the Perrin brothers who are so dedicated to natural wine making and although this is only the second wine to Chateau de Beaucastel, it is better than many other full Chateauneuf de Papes. It is not as heavy or sumptuous in style because of the extra percentage of Mouverdre used in the making thereof.

Domaine Chante Cigal (6) £18.75 £112.50
Chateauneuf de Pape

Well made Chateauneuf in this price range. Good fruit with an underlying vanilla taste and a touch of spice at the end.

Chateauneuf - du - Pape, La Bernardine 2010 (6) £28.00 £168.00
M Chapoutier
Very classy indeed - this is full, young, luscious and a dream to drink and yes it should probably wait but it's much too good for that to happen. Recommended.
